A little about myself...
While raising four children, sometimes a person needs a little diversion!  I always wanted to paint, so I began with little knowledge of what I was doing.  After taking ten weeks of basic oil-painting classes, I began experimenting with palette knives.  I found that this worked much better for the intermittent times that I could actually sit down and concentrate on painting.  You know, there was always something to divert me from my hobby, so brushes got ruined by the score.

This period in my life was a time to be mother and wife, but not yet an "artist."  I considered myself as "an artist in training," so the experimentation was well used.

Since 1971, I have painted almost exclusively with palette knives.  I have worked out a simple technique of putting paint on canvas with knives that is faster, cleaner, and brings more realism to the subject painted.

In 1981, with my family grown, I was encouraged by friends and family to teach my "Unique Palette Knife Technique."  By teaching for nine-plus years, I learned to expand my own abilities with more effective techniques.  It is very fulfilling to share what I have learned through trial and error with my students and am always open to new ideas and try to encourage the students to perfect their own style.

I started traveling and selling my "work" at fine art shows across the state about twelve years ago and have never regretted it.  The people I have met, the places I have seen and the experiences of bringing my art to the public have been truly worth the dedication I have put into it. I have been traveling with my art for about twelve years now and still enjoy it.  Visit my News and Calendar to find out where I've been lately and where you can find me in the future.

Oil is my chosen and best-loved medium, however I have taught myself to do watercolors as well.  The oil paint allows me to give a three-dimensional look to the canvases while watercolors allow me to  do a "remarque" on my lithograph prints!

Have fun looking through the site and I hope you enjoy my art.
